How long do sump pumps last?
Primary pumps last 7 to 10 years on average. Battery backup pumps need a new battery every 3 to 5 years.
Where does the discharge line go?
To daylight at least 10 feet from the foundation, or into the storm drain where local code allows. Never into the sanitary sewer.
